Image Analysis: Dot Count

DotCount
DotCount is a program to count the number of dots in an image. Dots are considered to be connected regions with approximately the same intensity. Therefore DotCount can be used to count e.g. lighted windows in a sky scraper or anything else, as long as the regions are connected and the contrast to the background is high enough. This program has been used to count pigments on pig skin (medical application).
Features:
  • Convert the image to binary (black-white) image
  • Adjust intensity threshold for conversion
  • Adjust minimal and maximal size of dots to be counted
  • Count dots (in selected area)
  • Add/remove single dots manually
